George and Eleanor McGovern Library

October 5-7, 2006

Mitchell, South Dakota

On October 7, 2006, George McGovern dedicated the George and Eleanor McGovern Library in Mitchell, South Dakota.
For three days, supporters, friends, family and campaign staff workers celebrated together in honor of George and Eleanor. Unfortunately, Eleanor was not able to attend the dedication due to health issues.

What next?

On the eve of this dedication, Stuart Bratesman and Judy Harrington made a monumental effort to contact members of the McGovern for President Staff. Their efforts resulted in many members of the staff attending the event and the development of an email list which is bringing together many long lost friends.
These efforts have led to new energy to come together and advocate collectively for social change. A web page to organize these efforts is in the works, and a link will be posted here when the WEB page is online.
